Chad Hayes
| | USDA Agricultural Research ServiceChad Hayes is a sorghum research geneticist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service in Lubbock, Texas. For the WEST project, he leads the Texas field trials. In addition, he contributes to the evaluation of biomass production, canopy temperature, and soil water content, as well as leaf photosynthesis rate and stomatal conductance. Chad earned his bachelor’s degree in plant biotechnology from Texas Tech University and his master’s degree in plant breeding from Texas A&M University. He went on to earn his doctorate in plant breeding from Texas A&M University. His work is published in many peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Plant Registrations, American Journal of Plant Sciences, and the Australian Journal of Crop Sciences.
