Samuel Fernandes

Samuel Fernandes is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois. He works on genomic prediction and computer simulation in plant genetics, using field and genomic information he is able to predict the outcome of plant crossings. Samuel earned his bachelor’s degree in agronomy from the University of Brasilia and went on to earn his master’s degree and doctorate in genetics and plant breeding from the University of Lavras. During his doctorate he was a visiting doctoral scholar at Illinois. His work has been published in Genetics and Molecular Research and Theoretical and Applied Genetics.
