Ravi Valluru
| | Cornell UniversityRavi Valluru is a research associate at Cornell University. He is an expert in developing models for drought tolerant sorghum using physiology and genomics. While gene mutations are key determinants of phenotypes, they have not been fully integrated with hybrid prediction models. For the WEST project, he is integrating physiology and gene mutational load knowledge with genome-wide predictions to drought tolerant sorghum. Ravi earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences and master’s degree in agronomy at Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University in India. He holds a doctorate in agricultural sciences from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. He studied carbon metabolism and leaf growth in water-deficit Arabidopsis at Institute National De La Recherche Agronomique in Montpellier, France. His work has been published in several journals, including New Phytologist and Frontiers in Plant Science.
