Patrick Brown
| | University of IllinoisPatrick Brown is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois. As a sorghum geneticist, he will lead the development of germplasm and the Illinois field trials, including the production of wild-type and transgenic hybrids. He will also contribute to genome-wide association studies, genomic selection, and hybrid prediction. Patrick received his bachelor’s degree from Reed College and went on to earn his doctorate from Cornell University. He has authored many peer-reviewed publications, including the Crop Science Society of America’s 2011 Outstanding Paper on Plant Genetic Resources.
